If you have stayed at a resort and liked it, buy there. You know the resort and like it so it makes sense to own there as renting is not guaranteed and expensive compared to maintenance fees.

You can always exchange in time to see more of the world.

If you are new to timeshare and want to visit as much of the world as possible (exchanging)
, I personally would try and meet the following criteria :

1, Cheap purchase price
2, Good quality resort
3, Low maintenance fees
4, Shortish lease so that you are not obligated to long term maintenance fees.

The following would make a good exchanging timeshare:

Malama Beach Club, Cyprus
2 bed 
Leasehold till 2030
Maintenance £250 per week (this is very cheap compared to others, average £500)
Purchase price £1995 per week
